Bhīṣma on the Śara-Śayyā: Yudhiṣṭhira and Kṛṣṇa Approach the Eldest for Śānti
ऋते शान्तनवाद् भीष्मात् त्रिषु लोकेषु पार्थिव । सत्यधर्मान्महावीर्याच्छूराद् धर्मेकतत्परात्
ṛte śāntanavād bhīṣmāt triṣu lokeṣu pārthiva | satyadharmān mahāvīryāc chūrād dharmaikatatparāt ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「王よ、三界において、サーンタヌの子ビーシュマを除き—真実を語り義に立ち、偉力の英雄、勇猛の戦士にしてただダルマに専心する者—苦行と誓願の力によって、身に本来訪れる自然の死を押しとどめた者がいるとは、私は聞いたことがない。」
