यथा दुर्योधनगृहं तथा दुःशासनस्य तु । प्रासादमालासंयुक्ते हेमतोरणभूषितम्‌

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | yathā duryodhanagṛhaṃ tathā duḥśāsanasya tu | prāsādamālāsaṃyukte hema-toraṇa-bhūṣitam |

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは言った。「ドゥルヨーダナの邸がそうであったように、ドゥフシャーサナの邸もまた同じであった。高楼の列に飾られ、黄金の門楼で荘厳されていた。」この描写はカウラヴァの奢侈と権勢を際立たせ、『シャーンティ・パルヴァ』において、外なる栄華と、真のダルマが求める内なる規律との道徳的対照を立てる。
