ते वयं जातसंदेहा: पर्यपृच्छामहे रविम् | क एष दिवमाक्रम्य गत: सूर्य इवापर:,ऐसी शंका होनेपर हमने सूर्यदेवसे पूछा--“भगवन्! ये जो दूसरे सूर्यके समान आकाशको लाँघकर यहाँतक आये थे, कौन थे?”
te vayaṁ jāta-saṁdehāḥ paryapṛcchāmahe ravim | ka eṣa divam ākrāmya gataḥ sūrya ivāparaḥ ||
そこでわれらは疑いにとらわれ、ラヴィ(太陽神)に問うた。「大いなる御方よ。あの者は誰なのですか――第二の太陽のごとく天を踏み越えて、ここへ来たあの者は。」
नाग उवाच
When uncertainty arises, one should seek clarification from a reliable, luminous source of knowledge; the verse models respectful inquiry rather than speculation.
The Nāga narrator describes how, after becoming doubtful, they questioned the Sun-god about a mysterious being who appeared like a second Sun and seemed to traverse the sky to reach that place.
