जनमेजय उवाच एवं बहुविध॑ धर्म प्रतिबुद्धैर्निषिवितम् । न कुर्वन्ति कथं विप्रा अन्ये नानाव्रते स्थिता:
Janamejaya uvāca: evaṁ bahuvidhaṁ dharmaṁ pratibuddhair niṣevitam | na kurvanti kathaṁ viprā anye nānāvrate sthitāḥ ||
ジャナメージャヤは言った。「牟尼よ、このダルマは多様な相と多くの徳を備え、覚醒し識別ある者たちにより実践されている。しかるに、さまざまな誓戒や行に身を置く他のバラモンたちは、なぜこれを行いとして体現しないのか。」
