पितामहाय शुद्धाय युगादौ लोकधारिणे । पितामहश्न दक्षाय धर्ममेतं पुरा ददौ

Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

pitāmahāya śuddhāya yugādau lokadhāriṇe |

pitāmahaś ca dakṣāya dharmam etaṃ purā dadau, nareśvara ||

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「時代の初め、ナーラーヤナはこのダルマを、清浄なるピターマハ（梵天）—諸世界を支える者—に授けた。ついで太古に、ピターマハ（梵天）はこの同じダルマをダクシャに授けたのだ、王よ。かくして宇宙の根源から生類の祖へと至る聖なる教えの系譜が打ち立てられた。」
