जगतत्रिन्तयन् सृष्टिं चित्रां बहुगुणोद्धवाम् । तस्य चिन्तयत: सृष्टि महानात्मगुण: स्मृत:
jagat-triṇintayan sṛṣṭiṃ citrāṃ bahu-guṇodbhavām | tasya cintayataḥ sṛṣṭiḥ mahān-ātma-guṇaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。多くの性質より生じ、さまざまに彩られた宇宙の驚異の創造を思惟し、顕現の過程を観じた。創造を思案するうちに、『マハト（Mahat）』――大いなるもの、宇宙的知性――という原理が想起され、さらなる流出の端緒となった。
