नागैः सह ब्राह्मणस्य अतिथिधर्म-व्रतसंवादः | The Brahmin’s Vow and the Nāgas’ Hospitality Appeal
अव्यक्तयोनिर्भगवान् दुर्दर्श: पुरुषोत्तम: । नारदैतद्धि नौ सत्यं वचनं समुदाह्मतम्,नारद! वे भगवान् पुरुषोत्तम अव्यक्त प्रकृतिके मूल कारण हैं। उनका दर्शन मिलना अत्यन्त कठिन है। द्विजश्रेष्ठ! हम दोनों तुमसे सच कहते हैं कि भगवान्को इस जगतमें भक्तसे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई प्रिय नहीं है। इसलिये उन्होंने स्वयं ही तुम्हें अपने स्वरूपका दर्शन कराया है
avyaktayonir bhagavān durdarśaḥ puruṣottamaḥ | nārada etaddhi nau satyaṃ vacanaṃ samudāhṛtam, nārada! ve bhagavān puruṣottama avyakta prakṛtike mūla kāraṇa haiṃ. unakā darśana milanā atyanta kaṭhina hai. dvijaśreṣṭha! ham donoṃ tumse sac kahate haiṃ ki bhagavānko is jagatmeṃ bhaktase baṛhakar dūsarā koī priya nahīṃ hai. isaliye unhoṃne svayaṃ hī tumheṃ apane svarūpakā darśana karāyā hai
「世尊にして至上のプルシャ(Purushottama)は、不顕(Unmanifest)を根源とし、その御姿を拝することはきわめて難い。ナーラダよ、これぞ我らが宣べる真実の言葉である。この世において、主にとって信愛の者(バクタ)より愛しき者はない。ゆえに主はみずから汝に己が御相を示されたのだ。」
नारद उवाच
The verse teaches that the Supreme Lord is intrinsically difficult to perceive, yet He becomes accessible through devotion; among all beings, the devotee is dearest to Him, and divine vision (darśana) is granted by His grace.
Nārada is speaking about the nature of the Supreme Person—unmanifest in origin and hard to behold—and affirms as a truthful declaration that the Lord especially loves His devotees; consequently, the Lord has personally granted Nārada a vision of His own form.
