श्रीभगवानुवाच अवाच्यमेतद्‌ वक्तव्यमात्मगुहां सनातनम्‌ | तव भक्तिमतो ब्रद्दान्‌ वक्ष्यामि तु यथातथम्‌,नर-नारायणका नारदजीके साथ संवाद श्रीभगवान्‌ बोले--ब्रह्मन! तुमने जिसके विषयमें प्रश्न किया है, वह अपने लिये गोपनीय विषय है। यद्यपि यह सनातन रहस्य किसीसे कहने योग्य नहीं है, तथापि तुम-जैसे भक्त पुरुषको तो उसे बताना ही चाहिये; अतः मैं यथार्थ रूपसे इस विषयका वर्णन करूँगा

śrībhagavān uvāca | avācyam etad vaktavyam ātmaguhāṃ sanātanam | tava bhaktimato brahman vakṣyāmi tu yathātatham ||

世尊は言われた。「これは本来、語るべきではない—自己の奥底に秘められた永遠の秘義である。だが、婆羅門よ、汝は篤き信(バクティ)を有するゆえ、汝には語られるべきであろう。ゆえに、ありのままを正確に説き明かそう。」
