Nārada’s Darśana of Viśvarūpa Nārāyaṇa and the Caturmūrti Doctrine
gāṁ caiva samanujñāya rājānam anumānya ca | paryapṛcchan mahātejā rājñaḥ kuśalam avyayam ||

The verse highlights dharmic social conduct: after receiving a gift (especially a sacred gift like a cow), one should respond with respect and proper leave-taking, and then inquire about the other’s lasting welfare—showing gratitude, humility, and concern for well-being.
A radiant sage, after accepting the cow-gift and honoring the king, formally concludes the exchange and asks the king about his enduring welfare, reflecting the courteous norms of sage–king interactions.
