स पश्यति यथान्यायं स्पर्शान् स्पृशति वा विभो | बुध्यमानो यथापूर्वमखिलेनेह भारत
sa paśyati yathānyāyaṃ sparśān spṛśati vā vibho | budhyamāno yathāpūrvam akhileneha bhārata, prabho! bharatanandana! |
ビーシュマは言った。「大いなる者よ――バーラタよ、主よ、バーラタ族の歓喜よ――彼は夢の中でも、道理にかなって整然と形相を見、また触れ得るものに触れる。要するに、夢にあっても彼はこの世のあらゆる対象を、以前と同じく、まるで覚醒しているかのように理解し体験するのだ。」
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma highlights that a certain state of awareness can be so vivid and orderly that even in dream one perceives and touches objects as if awake—emphasizing the power of cognition and the continuity of experience across states.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs Yudhiṣṭhira on subtle matters of mind and knowledge; here he describes a person whose experience in dream resembles waking perception, as part of a broader discussion on consciousness and understanding.
