विशेषधर्मा नृपते वर्णानां परिकीर्तिता: । धर्मान् साधारणांस्तात विस्तरेण शृणुष्व मे,महाराज! ये वर्णोंके विशेष धर्म बताये गये हैं। तात! अब उनके साधारण धर्मोंका विस्तारपूर्वक वर्णन मुझसे सुनो
viśeṣa-dharmā nṛpate varṇānāṁ parikīrtitāḥ | dharmān sādhāraṇāṁs tāta vistareṇa śṛṇuṣva me, mahārāja ||
王よ、諸ヴァルナの特別の務めはすでに説き明かした。今は、愛しき者よ――偉大なる王よ――万人に及ぶ共通の務めを、わたしが詳しく語るゆえ、聞くがよい。
पराशर उवाच
