तब रतिकी उपासनामें लगे हुए सभी लोग भोगीको ही कृतार्थ मानकर रतिके द्वारा जो विषय-सुख प्राप्त होता है, उससे बढ़कर दूसरा कोई लाभ नहीं समझते हैं ।।
tato lobhābhibhūtātmā saṅgād vardhayate janam | puṣṭyarthaṃ caiva tasyeha janasya arthaṃ cikīrṣati ||
やがて心が貪欲に支配されると、人は執着に駆られて、扶養すべき者や親族の輪を増やそうとする。さらにその家を養い保つために、財を求めて蓄えようという衝動が起こり、感官の快楽を最高の成就と見なし、男女の交わりによって得られる悦楽に勝る善はないと思い込むのである。
पराशर उवाच
Attachment to sensual pleasure breeds greed; greed then drives expansion of dependents and the compulsion to accumulate wealth for their maintenance—illustrating a self-reinforcing cycle that binds one to worldly striving rather than higher aims.
Parāśara describes a psychological progression: people who treat erotic enjoyment as the supreme good become dominated by greed; from attachment they enlarge their household, and then feel compelled to seek wealth to support and sustain that growing family circle.
