Śreyas-nirdeśa (Discerning the Superior Good): Nārada–Gālava Saṃvāda

अनुषक्ता द्वयेनैते भावा: स्थावरजड्रमा: । मनुष्यके जन्म लेते ही उसका अन्त कर डालनेके लिये अन्तक (यमराज) उसके पीछे लग जाता है और बुढ़ापा भी देहधारीके पास आता ही है। समस्त चराचर पदार्थ इन दोनोंसे बँधे हुए हैं

anuṣaktā dvayenāite bhāvāḥ sthāvarajaṅgamāḥ | manuṣyake janma lete hī usakā anta kara ḍālne ke liye antaka (yamarāja) usake pīche laga jātā hai aura buṛhāpā bhī dehadhārīke pāsa ātā hī hai | samasta carācara padārtha ina donoṃse baṃdhe hue haiṃ |

ビーシュマは言った。「あらゆる存在の相――不動なるものも動くものも――は二つの伴侶に縛られている。人が生まれ落ちたその瞬間から、終わらせる者アンタカ(ヤマ、死の王)は命を終点へ導くため背後に付き従い、老いもまた、身を持つすべての者に必ず近づく。かくして世界のすべて――動くものも動かぬものも――はこの二つに固く捉えられている。」
