व्यास उवाच
The verse presents a dharmic ideal: when a ruler-sage performs righteous acts—especially the socially and ritually weighty act of giving a daughter in marriage in accordance with dharma—such conduct generates merit leading to exalted realms praised even by the gods.
Vyāsa recounts that the royal sage Madirāśva gave his beautiful daughter to Hiraṇyahasta (as a bride) and, as a result of his righteous life and deed, departed to divine-praised worlds.
