भीष्म उवाच एवमुक्तो भगवता महेन्द्र: पृथिवीं तदा । चचारैरावतस्कन्धमधिरुहा[ू श्रिया वृत:
bhīṣma uvāca evam ukto bhagavatā mahendraḥ pṛthivīṃ tadā | cacāra airāvataskandham adhiruhya śriyā vṛtaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「かくして福徳ある御方（梵天）に命じられるや、マヘーンドラ（インドラ）はアイラーヴァタの背に乗り、大地を巡り始めた。王者の吉祥に輝きつつ——それは、天の許しを得た主権の行使と、世界を護る務めのしるしであった。」
