भीष्म उवाच
The verse reinforces dharma through remembered lineage: naming revered descendants of Aṅgiras affirms the continuity and authority of the rishi tradition, a key foundation for ethical instruction in the Śānti Parva.
Bhishma is listing figures in a genealogical/teacherly context, identifying several named persons as sons of the sage Aṅgiras, as part of a broader exposition that situates dharma within established sacred lineages.
