Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca

śrūyatāṁ bharataśreṣṭha yan māṁ tvaṁ paripṛcchasi |

prajānāṁ patayo ye 'smin dikṣu ye cārṣayaḥ smṛtāḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは言った。「聞け、バーラタ族の最勝者よ。そなたが我に問うところを。われはこの世に現れたプラジャーパティ—衆生の主にして祖なる者たち—を述べ、また伝承により諸方位を司るとされる聖仙たちをも語ろう。」
