Śānti-parva 206: Guṇa-hetu Moha, Kāma-krodha Chain, Indriya-utpatti, and Nirodha
अदृष्टतो<नुपायाच्च प्रतिसंधेश्व॒ कर्मण: । न तेन मर्त्या: पश्यन्ति येन गच्छन्ति तत् पदम्
adṛṣṭato'nupāyāc ca pratisaṃdheṣu karmaṇaḥ | na tena martyāḥ paśyanti yena gacchanti tat padam ||
ビーシュマは言った。「それは直に見えるものではなく、その手立ても理解されず、また行為が相反する思慮の網に絡め取られているがゆえに、死すべき者は至上の境地へ至るその道を見定めることができない。不運と霊的資糧の欠乏、そして行為の果への執着によって、人は最高者へ通じる道を認め損なうのである。」
