एतत् फलं जापकानां गतिकश्नैषा प्रकीर्तिता । यथाश्रुतं महाराज कि भूय: श्रोतुमिच्छसि,महाराज! मैंने जैसा सुना था, उसके अनुसार जापकोंको मिलनेवाले इस उत्तम फल और गतिका वर्णन किया। अब तुम और क्या सुनना चाहते हो?
etat phalaṁ jāpākānāṁ gatiś ca eṣā prakīrtitā | yathāśrutaṁ mahārāja kiṁ bhūyaḥ śrotum icchasi ||
毗湿摩は言った。「これがジャパ(真言の反復誦念)に励む者たちの果であり、これが彼らに宣示された行路(帰趣)である。大王よ、われは聞いたままに語り終えた。さらに何を聞きたいのか。」
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma emphasizes that disciplined japa yields a definite spiritual ‘fruit’ and ‘gati’ (destiny), and he presents his teaching as faithful to received tradition (yathāśrutam), highlighting humility and accuracy in dharma-instruction.
After explaining the benefits and spiritual destination of japa-practitioners, Bhishma concludes his account and invites Yudhiṣṭhira to ask what further instruction he wants, marking a transition point in the ongoing dharma discourse of the Śānti Parva.
