ते च सर्वे महात्मानो धर्म सत्कृत्य तत्र वै । पृष्ठतो5नुययू राजन् सर्वे सुप्रीतचेतस:,राजन! फिर वे सभी महात्मा धर्मको सत्कार-पूर्वक आगे करके प्रसन्नचित्त हो पीछे- पीछे चल दिये
te ca sarve mahātmāno dharmaṃ satkṛtya tatra vai | pṛṣṭhato 'nuyayuḥ rājan sarve suprītacetasaḥ ||
毗湿摩は言った。「そしてその大いなる魂をもつ者たちは皆、そこでダルマをしかと敬い、ダルマを先頭に立てて——王よ——喜悦に満ちた心で後に従って行った。」
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights that righteous conduct begins with honoring Dharma and placing it in the forefront of one’s actions; when Dharma is respected as the guiding principle, the community’s movement and decisions become harmonious and inwardly joyful.
Bhishma describes a group of noble men who, after paying due reverence to Dharma in that setting, proceed to follow behind (in orderly succession), all of them pleased in mind—addressing the king as the listener.
