जात्यैवैके सुखितरा: सन्त्यन्ये भृुशदु:खिता: । नैकान्तं सुखमेवेह क्वचित्पश्यामि कस्यचित्
jātyaivaike sukhitarāḥ santyanye bhṛśa-duḥkhitāḥ | naikāntaṃ sukhameveha kvacit paśyāmi kasyacit ||
ビーシュマは言った。「生まれと種族そのものによって、ある者は比較的安楽であり、またある者は同じ条件ゆえに激しく苦しむ。だがこの世に、どこにも、ただ幸福のみが途切れず続く者など私は見ない。」
