विशेषतस्तु कार्तिक्यां द्विजेभ्य: सम्प्रयच्छति । शरद्‌ व्यपाये रत्नानि पौर्णमास्यामिति श्रुति:

Transliteration

viśeṣatas tu kārtikyāṁ dvijebhyaḥ samprayacchati | śarad-vyapāye ratnāni paurṇamāsyām iti śrutiḥ ||

Translation

ビーシュマは語った。「とりわけ伝え聞くところによれば、カールティカ（Kārtika）の満月—秋の季が去りゆく折—彼は二度生まれの者（婆羅門）に宝玉を施与したという。これぞ聖なる伝承として聞き及ぶところである。」
