तमसा<5<वृतमस्पर्शमतिगम्भीरदर्शनम् । निःशब्दं चाप्रमेयं च तत्र जज्ञे पितामह:
tamasāvṛtam asparśam atigambhīradarśanam | niḥśabdaṃ cāprameyaṃ ca tatra jajñe pitāmahaḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「万物は闇に覆われ、触も音も知覚されなかった。その一つの大海原は、見ればきわめて深遠で測りがたく、量り得る限界を持たなかった。その測り知れぬ静寂のうちに、祖父なるブラフマー（Brahmā）が顕現した。」
