Nāḍījaṅgha

त्याग: स्नेहस्य यत्‌ त्यागो विषयाणां तथैव च । रागद्वेषप्रहीणस्य त्यागो भवति नान्यथा

tyāgaḥ snehyasya yat tyāgo viṣayāṇāṃ tathaiva ca | rāga-dveṣa-prahīṇasya tyāgo bhavati nānyathā ||

ビーシュマは言った。「真の離欲(tyāga)とは執着を捨てること—まとわりつく愛着を捨て、感官の対象への依存をも捨てることである。貪愛(rāga)と嫌悪(dveṣa)の双方を離れた者においてのみ、離欲は真実となる。さもなくば、そうではない。」
