अथ बन्धपरिक्लिष्टो मार्जारो वीक्ष्य मूषिकम् । छिन्दन्तं वै तदा पाशानत्वरन्तं त्वरान्वित:
atha bandha-parikliṣṭo mārjāro vīkṣya mūṣikam | chindantaṃ vai tadā pāśān atvarantaṃ tvarānvitāḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「そのとき、縛られて苦しむ猫は、鼠が縄の輪を噛み切っているのを見た。だが鼠の手際が速くないと知るや、焦りに囚われた猫は、さらに早く縄を断てと促すために言葉を発した。」
