छेत्स्याम्यहं तमप्याशु निर्वतो भव लोमश । “मैंने बहुतसे तंतु काट डाले हैं, केवल एक ही डोरी बाकी रख छोड़ी है। उसे भी मैं शीघ्र ही काट डालूँगा; अत: लोमश! तुम शान्त रहो, घबराओ न' ।।
chetsyāmy ahaṃ tam apy āśu nirvato bhava lomaśa | tayoḥ saṃvadator evaṃ tathaivāpannayor dvayoḥ ||
ビーシュマは言った。「私はすでに多くの糸を断ち切った。残るはただ一本の綱のみ。それも遅れなく断ち切ろう。ゆえにローマシャよ、心を鎮めよ—取り乱すな。」こうして二人がそのように語り合っている間も、両者は同じ苦境のままにあった。
