स्थापयेदेव मर्यादां जनचित्तप्रसादिनीम् । अल्पे>प्यर्थे च मर्यादा लोके भवति पूजिता
sthāpayet eva maryādāṃ janacitta-prasādinīm | alpe 'py arthe ca maryādā loke bhavati pūjitā ||
ビーシュマは言った。「王は maryādā（マリヤーダ）—人々の心を鎮め満ち足らせる、正しい境界と行いの規範—を定めねばならぬ。世においては、いかに小さな事であっても、礼にかなった秩序（maryādā）こそが尊ばれる。」
