Āśā-prabhava (आशाप्रभव) — On the Rise and Power of Hope/Expectation
Sumitra Itihāsa Begins
।। ततो भयं प्रादुरासीत् प्रहादस्य महात्मन:
tato bhayaṃ prādurāsīt prahrādasya mahātmanaḥ | tataḥ mahātmā prahrādako baḍā bhaya huā | punar apṛcchat—“kamalālaye! tvaṃ kutra yāsi? tvaṃ hi satyavratā devī samasta-jagataḥ parameśvarī | sa śreṣṭho brāhmaṇaḥ kaḥ? etad ahaṃ yathāvat jñātum icchāmi”
そのとき、高徳のプラフラーダに大いなる恐れが起こった。恐怖に圧され、彼は再び女神に問うた。「蓮華に住まう御方よ、どこへ行かれるのですか。あなたは真実の誓いを守る女神、全世界の至上の主。あのすぐれたバラモンは何者だったのですか。私はそれを正確に知りたいのです。」
