Satya–Anṛta Viveka (Discrimination between Truth and Falsehood) | सत्य–अनृत विवेकः
इति श्रीमहा भारते शान्तिपर्वणि राजधर्मानुशासनपर्वणि सत्यानृतकविभागे नवाधिकशततमोड<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate śāntiparvaṇi rājadharmānuśāsanaparvaṇi satyānṛtakavibhāge navādhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
かくして、尊崇される『マハーバーラタ』寂静篇(Śānti Parva)――とりわけ王の務めを説く訓戒の部において――真と偽を分かつ題目のもと、第百九章は了となる。これは章末の定式句(コロフォン)であり、統治者が真実を見分けてこれを護持すべきこと、また虚偽の危険とその帰結を悟るべきことを説く倫理の論議を締めくくる。
भीष्म उवाच
The chapter’s stated theme is the discernment between satya (truth) and anṛta (falsehood) within rājadharma: a ruler’s ethical responsibility to recognize truth, avoid deception, and understand the moral and practical consequences that follow from truthfulness versus falsehood.
