Devāsuropama-yuddha and the ‘River’ Metaphor of the Battlefield

The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of kṣatriya-dharma: once war is joined, warriors act with decisive intent against designated enemies. It also underscores how intention (jighāṃsā—desire to kill) drives action, reminding readers that in the epic, moral weight is closely tied to motive as well as deed.
Sañjaya reports to the king that Bhīmasena and the Somaka mahārathas surge forward and launch an assault on Kṛpācārya, aiming to cut down enemies in the ongoing Kurukṣetra battle.
