रणभूमिवर्णनम् — Devāsuropama-yuddha and the ‘River’ Metaphor of the Battlefield
पाण्डवाश्च महेष्वासा व्यूह्य् सैन्यमरिंदमा:
pāṇḍavāś ca maheṣvāsā vyūhya sainyam ariṃdamāḥ
サञ्जयは言った。「パーンダヴァらは、強弓の名手にして敵を屈せしめる者たち、軍を陣形に整え、来たる激突に向けて規律ある決意をもって備えた。」この一句は、暴力のただ中にあっても秩序と策と責任が行為を支配するという、戦の倫理的重荷を示している。
संजय उवाच
Even in war, righteous conduct emphasizes disciplined preparation, clear command, and responsible use of force; the warriors are praised not merely for aggression but for controlled, strategic action aligned with kṣatriya duty.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍavas, renowned as great archers, organize their troops into a formal battle array (vyūha), signaling readiness for the next phase of combat in the Śalya Parva.
