सा वज्निष्पेषसमा प्रहिता भीमकर्मणा । ऊरू दुर्योधनस्याथ बभज्ज प्रियदर्शनी
sā vajraniṣpeṣa-samā prahitā bhīma-karmaṇā | ūrū duryodhanasyātha babhajja priya-darśanī ||
恐るべき業をなすビーマが投げ放ったその棍棒は、雷霆のごとく落ちた。そして、見目麗しいとさえ言われたドゥルヨーダナの腿を打ち砕いた。この一瞬は、戦の苛烈な理のもとでは、武人の身体において称賛されるものすら、驕りと対抗心、そして冷厳に展開する宿命の帰結にさらされることを示している。
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights the severe consequences that unfold in war: power and pride invite decisive retaliation, and admired strength or beauty offers no protection when actions ripen into results (karma) amid the harsh demands of battle.
Vāyudeva describes Bhīma hurling his mace with thunderbolt-like force, striking and breaking Duryodhana’s thighs—an emphatic turning point in the climactic duel.
