Gadāyuddhe Kṛṣṇopadeśaḥ (Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel in the Mace-Duel) — Śalya-parva 57

स सिंहनादं विननाद कौरवो निपात्य भूमौ युधि भीममोजसा । बिभेद चैवाशनितुल्यमोजसा गदानिपातेन शरीररक्षणम्‌

sa siṁhanādaṁ vinanāda kauravo nipātya bhūmau yudhi bhīmam ojasā | bibheda caivāśanitulyam ojasā gadānipātena śarīrarakṣaṇam ||

サンジャヤは言った。戦場のただ中で、力任せにビーマを地へ叩き伏せたクル王(ドゥルヨーダナ)は、獅子のごとく咆哮した。ついで雷霆にも比すべき威力をこめたガダーの一撃で、ビーマセーナの身を守るもの—その鎧—を打ち砕いた。苛烈な戦の掟においては、剛力と武技がいかに堅固な防御をも踏みにじるかが示されたのである。
