दुर्योधनाय व्यसृजद् भीमो भीमपराक्रम: । तदनन्तर भयंकर पराक्रमी भीमसेनने दुर्योधनपर अपनी सुवर्णजटित तेजस्विनी एवं बड़ी भारी गदा छोड़ी ।। त॑ं प्रहारमसम्भ्रान्तो लाघवेन महाबल:
sañjaya uvāca | duryodhanāya vyasṛjad bhīmo bhīmaparākramaḥ | tadanantaraṁ bhayaṅkara-parākramaḥ bhīmasenaḥ duryodhanaparaṁ suvarṇa-jaṭitaṁ tejasvinīṁ ca bṛhatīṁ gadāṁ chukṣepa | taṁ prahāram asambhrānto lāghavena mahābalaḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。恐るべき武勇のビーマは、ドゥルヨーダナめがけてガダーを投げ放った。続いてビーマセーナ——武勲も凄まじき者——は、黄金で飾られた巨大で光り輝くガダーをドゥルヨーダナへと投じた。だが大力の彼は少しも取り乱さず、素早い身のこなしでそれを受け流し、戦の暴威のただ中にあっても心の定まりを示した。
