Commencement of the Mace-Duel Proceedings
बभूव श्रीमती राजन् शाण्डिल्यस्य महात्मन: । सुता धृतव्रता साध्वी नियता ब्रह्मचारिणी,“राजन! नियमपूर्वक व्रतधारण और ब्रह्मचर्यपालन करनेवाली वह तेजस्विनी साध्वी महात्मा शाण्डिल्यकी सुपुत्री थी
babhūva śrīmatī rājan śāṇḍilyasya mahātmanaḥ | sutā dhṛtavratā sādhvī niyatā brahmacāriṇī ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「王よ、彼女は光輝と名声を備えた乙女であり、大徳シャーンディリヤの娘であった。誓戒に堅く、行いは清らかで、自制に厳しく、梵行（ブラフマチャリヤ）の遵守に身を捧げていた。」
