गदायुद्ध-समारम्भः

Commencement of the Mace-Duel Proceedings

स चाप्युपगतो योद्धुं भीमेन सह साम्प्रतम्‌

sa cāpy upagato yoddhuṃ bhīmena saha sāmpratam | idānīṃ sa bhīmena saha yuddhārthaṃ teṣāṃ samīpaṃ prāptaḥ | rāma! adya tayor mahāghoraṃ yuddhaṃ bhaviṣyati | mādhava! yadi te manasi tad draṣṭuṃ kautūhalaṃ syāt tarhi śīghraṃ gaccha | yadi manyase tarhi svayoḥ śiṣyayoḥ tad mahābhayaṅkaraṃ yuddhaṃ svacakṣuṣā paśya |

ナーラダは言った。「彼もまた今、ビーマと戦うために出陣し、すでに彼らの前へ到着した。ラーマよ、今日この二人の間には、まことに凄惨な戦いが起ころう。マーダヴァよ、もしそれを見たいという思いが胸にあるなら、急いで行け。ふさわしいと思うなら、自らの眼で、汝の二人の弟子の間に起こるその恐るべき戦いを見届けよ。」
