Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca | upaviṣṭaḥ kathāḥ śubhrāḥ śuśrāva yadupuṅgavaḥ | yatra pūrvakāle indraḥ agniś ca aryamā ca mahāprītim avāpuḥ, tat sthānaṃ yamunāyāḥ taṭe asti | kārapavanena tat tīrthaṃ gatvā mahābalī dharmātmā balarāmaḥ snātvā mahān harṣam avāpa | tataḥ sa yadupuṅgavaḥ balabhadraḥ ṛṣibhiḥ siddhaiś ca saha upaviśya uttamāḥ kathāḥ śuśrāva |

Translation

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ヤドゥ族の雄はそこに座し、清らかで瑞祥なる物語に耳を傾けた。その地はヤムナー河の岸にあり、古えにインドラ、アグニ、アリヤマンが大いなる歓喜を得たところである。カ―ラパヴァナ（Kārapavana）の道をたどってそのティールタに至り、剛力にして法に篤いバララーマは沐浴して深い悦びを得た。ついでヤドゥの長バラバドラは、仙人と成就者（シッダ）らと共に座し、すぐれた説話を聴き続けた。
