ततो मुहूर्त स ध्यात्वा धार्तराष्ट्री महामना: । कृपं शारद्वतं वाक्यमित्युवाच परंतप:

Transliteration

tato muhūrtaṃ sa dhyātvā dhārtarāṣṭrī mahāmanāḥ | kṛpaṃ śāradvataṃ vākyam ity uvāca parantapaḥ ||

Translation

サンジャヤは言った。やがてしばし思案したのち、敵を悩ます持国（ドリタラーシュトラ）の大いなる心の子は、シャラドヴァト（Śaradvat）の子クリパ（Kṛpa）に向かい、次の言葉で返答した。その間（ま）は危機のただ中での熟慮を示す。忠告と責務の重みが、戦議の座で言葉となる前に胸にのしかかっていたのである。
