Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative

ऋषयो बहवो राजंस्तत्‌ सत्रमभिपेदिरे | वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--राजन्‌! पूर्वकालके सत्ययुगकी बात है वहाँ बारह वर्षोमें पूर्ण होनेवाले एक महान्‌ यज्ञका अनुष्ठान आरम्भ किया गया था। उस सत्रमें नैमिषारण्यनिवासी तपस्वी मुनि तथा अन्य बहुतसे ऋषि पधारे थे

ṛṣayo bahavo rājan tat satram abhipedire |

ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。「王よ、多くの聖仙たちが来集し、その供犠の会(サトラ)に参集した。」この一句は、長期にわたり規定に従って営まれる儀礼によって聖なる秩序を支えんと、学識ある苦行者たちが一堂に会する、集団的で厳粛な宗教行の場面を描き出す。
