Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative
प्रययौ सहितो विप्रैः स्तूयमानश्च॒ माधव: । हलधरने वहाँ भी ब्राह्मणोंको भेड़
vaiśampāyana uvāca | prayayau sahito vipraiḥ stūyamānaś ca mādhavaḥ |
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。マーダヴァ(バララーマ)は、ブラーフマナたちに伴われ、彼らの讃嘆を受けつつ出立した。鋤を持つ者はそこでも、羊・山羊・牛・驢馬・駱駝、さらに金銀など多様な財をブラーフマナに施し、望むままに食を与えた。豊かな施与で彼らを満ち足らせたのち、ブラーフマナたちと共にその地を去った。その時、ブラーフマナたちはバララーマを盛んに称えた。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dāna and atithi-satkara (generous hospitality): a righteous person earns lasting honor not merely through power but through respectful support of the learned and the needy, fulfilling social and ethical obligations.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Mādhava (Balarāma) leaves a place accompanied by brāhmaṇas, who praise him as he departs—implying he has just honored and satisfied them through gifts and hospitality.
