Spiritual attainment is presented as the fruit of disciplined tapas and right understanding: those who live as brahmavādins—grounded in Brahman-knowledge and ascetic restraint—can ‘conquer’ even the highest realms, illustrating the ethical ideal that inner discipline and truth-oriented teaching lead to exalted results.
Vaiśampāyana begins (or continues) an illustrative account set in an earlier age, introducing three brother-sages—Ekata, Dvita, and Trita—describing their radiance, progeny, and Brahman-oriented teaching, and stating that through austerities they attained Brahmaloka.
