Bhīma–Duryodhana Gadāyuddha Saṃkalpa
Resolve for the Mace Duel
udatiṣṭhat putras te pratapan raśmivān iva | kandhe lohamayīṃ gadāṃ nidhāya baddha-jalaṃ bhittvā tava sa putraḥ pratāpī sūrya iva ūrdhvaṃ utthitaḥ |

The verse highlights steadfastness and warrior-resolve: even when constrained and forced down, a kṣatriya is expected to recover composure, rise again, and continue to face adversity with courage and self-command.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that his son rises up again, shining like the sun, with an iron mace on his shoulder, breaking through restraining waters and emerging upward—signaling a return to action in the battle setting.
