Dvaipāyana-hrade Duryodhanasya Māyā — Yudhiṣṭhirasya Dharmoktiḥ (Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 30)
मार्गमाणास्तु संक्रुद्धास्तव पुत्रं जयैषिण:
mārgamāṇās tu saṅkruddhās tava putraṃ jayaiṣiṇaḥ
サンジャヤは言った。「怒りに燃え、勝利を求めて、彼らは汝の子を探し回った。」
संजय उवाच
The line highlights how anger (krodha) and victory-hunger (jaya-eṣaṇā) can dominate the mind in war, narrowing moral vision and turning action into relentless pursuit rather than disciplined duty.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the opposing warriors, furious and determined to win, are actively searching for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s son on the battlefield, implying a focused hunt amid the chaos of combat.
