भीमसेनस्य कौरवसुतवधः तथा श्रुतर्वावधः
Slaying of Kaurava princes and the fall of Śrutarvā
भीमसेनस्तु तान् दृष्टवा नागान् मत्तगजोपम: । करेणादाय महतीं गदाम भ्यपतद् बली
bhīmasenas tu tān dṛṣṭvā nāgān mattagajopamaḥ | kareṇādāya mahatīṁ gadām abhyapatad balī ||
サञ्जयは語った。あの強大な戦士たち――力において象に比せられる者ども――を見て、ビーマセーナは自らも戦の憤怒に酔う猛象のごとく、巨大な棍棒（ガダー）を手に取り、抗しがたい力で前へと突進した。この偈は、戦のただ中で湧き上がる決意を示す。個の武勇と規律ある猛進が、戦場における当座の義務へと注がれるのである。
