भीमसेनस्य कौरवसुतवधः तथा श्रुतर्वावधः

रथसेनाके भंग हो जानेपर तीन हजार विशालकाय गजराजोंने समस्त पाण्डवरथियोंको चारों ओरसे घेर लिया ।।

サンジャヤは言った。車軍が崩れ去ると、三千の巨大な戦象が四方からパーンダヴァの車戦の勇士たちを取り囲んだ。こうして象軍に包囲されて戦場に立つとき、バーラタよ、王よ、パーンダヴァ五兄弟は、濃い雲に覆われた五つの惑星のように見えた。この比喩は戦の陰鬱な圧力を示す。正しき者でさえ包囲を免れぬが、それでも彼らの不屈は、暴力と宿命の嵐の覆いを透かして輝くのである。
