Stubborn attachment to power and refusal to yield what is just (rājya-bhāga) blocks reconciliation and drives society toward ruin; wise counsel (Vidura’s) recognizes such adharma early and warns that peace cannot be built on an obstinate will.
Sañjaya addresses Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta), stating his firm belief that the opposing side—specifically Duryodhana—will not return the kingdom. He supports this by recalling Vidura’s repeated warnings that Duryodhana, while alive, will not restore even a portion of the realm.
