प्रज्ञाचक्षुश्न दुर्धर्ष: कां गतिं प्रतिपत्स्यते । जिनके सभी पुत्र, कुटुम्बी और भाई-बन्धु मारे जा चुके हैं, वे माता गान्धारी तथा प्रज्ञाचक्षु दुर्जय राजा धृतराष्ट्र अब किस दशाको प्राप्त होंगे?
prajñācakṣuś ca durdharṣaḥ kāṃ gatiṃ pratipatsyate | yeṣāṃ sarve putrāḥ kuṭumbinaś ca bhrātaraś ca bandhavaś ca hatāḥ, te mātā gāndhārī ca prajñācakṣuḥ durjayo rājā dhṛtarāṣṭraś ca idānīṃ kāṃ daśāṃ prāpsyataḥ ||
サンジャヤは言った。「叡智を備えながら盲目で、しかも屈しがたい王は、いまいかなる道に至るのか。子らも、親族も、兄弟も、盟友もことごとく討たれたのち、母ガーンダーリーと、心は明晰でありながら目は見えぬ、不敗の王ドリタラーシュトラは、いまどのような境地に至るのか。」
