Sauptika Parva, Adhyaya 8 — Dhṛṣṭadyumna-vadha and the Camp’s Nocturnal Rout
स चेष्टमानानुद्धिग्नान् निरुत्साहानू सहस्रश: । न्यपातयन्नरान् क्रुद्ध: पशून् पशुपतिर्यथा
sa ceṣṭamānān uddhignān nirutsāhān ca sahasraśaḥ | nyapātayann arān kruddhaḥ paśūn paśupatir yathā ||
サञ्जयは言った。憤怒に燃え、彼は命を救おうともがく者たち—恐怖に取り乱し、勇気を失い尽くした者たち—を幾千と打ち倒した。まるで宇宙の滅尽（プララヤ）の時、牧主パシュパティ（ルドラ）が怒りにより一切の生類を滅ぼすがごとくであった。
