Brahmaśirastra-pratisaṃhāra — Retraction and redirection of the supreme weapon
Sauptika Parva, Adhyāya 15
सत्यव्रतधर: शूरो ब्रह्मचारी च पाण्डव: | गुरुवर्ती च तेनास्त्रं संजहारार्जुन: पुन:
satyavratadharaḥ śūro brahmacārī ca pāṇḍavaḥ | guruvartī ca tenāstraṃ saṃjahārārjunaḥ punaḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。パーンダヴァの勇者アルジュナは、真実の誓いに堅く、梵行の節制を守り、師の命に従う者であった。ゆえに彼は、その武器を再び収め、呼び戻したのである。この偈は示す――戦のただ中にあっても、力の行使は倫理的自制と、誓戒およびグルの導きへの忠誠によって統べられる。
