dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca: vividhānīha rūpāṇi kṛtvā gacchanti pāṇḍavāḥ | tan mamācakṣva vidura kasmād evaṃ vrajanti te ||
The verse highlights the ethical and political tension of a court where the righteous must sometimes move cautiously. A king’s duty is to seek truthful counsel (here from Vidura) and to understand the causes behind actions, especially when they signal danger, injustice, or impending consequences.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra observes that the Pāṇḍavas are leaving after taking on different appearances (suggesting secrecy or precaution). He asks Vidura to explain the reason for their unusual departure, indicating suspicion, anxiety, or a need to grasp the unfolding political situation.
